Fort Wayne lands $36 million distribution center PDF Print E-mail

Indiana Secretary of Commerce Mitch Roob joined executives of global food company General Mills (NYSE: GIS) and representatives of Allen County today to announce the company’s plans to open a new distribution center here, creating up to 65 new jobs by the end of 2012.

General Mills will invest more than $36 million in a new distribution center at 12300 Bluffton Road on the city’s south side. The facility will be built to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Gold standards and will feature energy efficient lighting, low-flow plumbing and a white roof to reflect sunlight and reduce urban warming.

Johnson Controls, Inc., the world’s largest supplier of automotive batteries, broke ground on a new 400,000 square-foot distribution center in Middletown, Del. The company is investing more than $75 million in the facility, which will perform the charging, packaging and distribution of automotive batteries for the Northeast region of the United States.

ProLogis Signs 337,000-Square-Foot Build-to-Suit Agreement Near Chicago PDF Print E-mail

ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), the leading global provider of distribution facilities, announced today it signed a fourth-quarter build-to-suit expansion agreement for 337,000 square feet with Bay Valley Foods, a leading provider of private label food products.

Bay Valley Foods already occupies a 620,000-square-foot, LEED Silver certified facility at ProLogis Park Rochelle, which ProLogis developed for the customer in 2008.
