Goodman, the international integrated property group that owns, develops and manages logistics and business space, has announced the delivery of a 50,000 sqm logistics facility, at their Saint-Mard site, to the Casino Group.

The facility has a total net lettable area of 50,000 sqm (including 800 sqm of offices), and has been built on a 12-hectare plot. Construction works on the logistics centre commenced in September 2011 and were completed at the end of May 2012.

Movianto Nederland, the logistics and transportation company specialised in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, is set to begin operations in the new state-of-the-art warehouse especially built to meet the clients' needs. The strategically located warehouse also offers the largest facility for the storage of deep frozen pharmaceutical products in Europe.

The European distribution centre situated at this Continental vantage point in Oss offers the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry 22,000 temperature controlled pallet spaces ensuring high quality standards for their products according to GDP guidelines and ISO 9001:2008 certification.

AW Rostamani Group recently opened a 600,000 square foot storage capacity state-of-the-art spare parts warehouse and distribution center at Dubai Industrial City (DIC), the region's leading manufacturing and logistics destination and a member of Tecom Investments. 

Retailer Pick n Pay on Wednesday opened its second distribution centre, following the launch of its distribution warehouse in Longmeadow, Gauteng, in 2010.

The opening of the distribution centre in Philippi, Cape Town, forms part of the roll-out of four sizeable distribution centres around the country, with a total investment of R2 billion.
