Goodman Group has completed the second phase of its fourth warehouse at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre in Modlniczka near Kraków. 85% of space at the 12,250 sqm facility has been leased to customers including Royal Canin, Logfarma and DB Schenker Logistics. The first section, completed in July, has 6,100 sqm of space, while the newly completed phase has an area of 6,150 sqm.

“We are delighted to announce the handover of another facility at one of our flagship logistics centres. Given the fact that a third of the centre’s target area is already leased, it is clear that our customers appreciate the very good location and high quality of the warehouses as well as easy access to the airport and the A4 expressway,” said Błażej Ciesielczak, Regional Director Poland.

The first customers to move into the new facility in July were Royal Canin, a pet food manufacturer that leased 3,500 sqm and Logfarma, a pharmaceutical raw materials manufacturer, occupying 2,600 sqm. DB Schenker Logistics has leased 4,400 sqm in phase two of the warehouse, the logistics operator already leases a 7,600 sqm cross dock at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre. A 1,750 sqm unit is still available for lease.

More than 50,000 sqm of warehouse space has now been leased at the logistics centre, which is a third of the total capacity.

”We would like to continue our relationship with Goodman in Poland, as a global player. The new investment near Krakow will improve the safety of consignments and further enhance the quality of our service,” says Janusz Górski, CEO of Schenker Sp. z o.o.

It has a target lease area of over 150,000 sqm and on completion will comprise nine warehouses with additional office space, staff and technical areas. When fully operational, it is expected that up to 1,000 people will be employed by customers, making it the largest logistics centre in Małopolska province.

Construction of the first warehouse at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre, with an area of 14,000 sqm, was completed in May 2011 and is fully leased to four customers Scot, Eurodruk-Kraków, Farutex and KMC Services. The second warehouse has an area of 22,400 sqm and was delivered in October 2011; it is fully leased to Valeo Autosystems and Ruch. In May 2012 Goodman delivered its first built-to-suit cross dock at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre. The 7,600 sqm facility was leased to DB Schenker Logistics.

Kraków Airport Logistics Centre is located in Modliniczka near Kraków, four kilometres from Kraków-Balice International Airport. Easy access is also provided by the close proximity to the A4 expressway linking Kraków and Wrocław.

In line with Goodman’s commitment to sustainability, 25% of the Kraków development will be landscaped and 800 trees will be planted around the perimeter. To date some 400 trees have been planted.
